WHAT ARE HECOSTIX?

We’ve taken a simple game of playing catch and added a twist! Each leg is colored in a fashion that allows participants to call a color or hand combination and then throw the HECOstix to the receiver. The person receiving must process the information while the HECOstix are in the air and catch the corresponding color or hand combination called. Seems easy right?

A hands-on, entertaining and visually stimulating activity, Racethe8s™ can be enjoyed by almost any individual. Racethe8s™ was created by Steven Kane, OTR, a Pediatric Occupational Therapist with over 20 years experience.

Racethe8s™1 has two sides, each with a myriad of possible ways to use it. It can be held by the side handles creating a lateral movement of the balls or by the interior handles creating an anterior/posterior movement of the balls. One side of Racethe8s™1 is a more linear version of an 8 pattern, while the other side creates a ‘wiggle’ pattern of the 8 pattern.

Racethe8s™ 2 has two sides, each with a myriad of possible ways to use it. Use the side handles to create movement of the balls. One side of Racethe8s™2 is a labyrinth, an ancient pattern intended to create focus and attention to an ‘inner world’. It has one way into the center and one way out from the center. The other side creates a 3 tracked pattern of the 8 pattern. This becomes an increasingly more difficult activity as you attempt to switch tracks in the middle or make the ball go around only one half of the 8 using a variety of tracks.

There are 3 rubber balls and 1 marble supplied with each Racethe8s track. This is intended to offer a variety of colors, textures and visual stimulation. The rubber balls create slightly more friction in the tracks, while the marble makes the action faster.

The Form Recognition Field Card is based on procedures developed by Lawrence W. Macdonald, O.D., and J. Baxter Swartwout, O.D. The chart is printed on grey cardstock for more contrast in the background. The card includes a fine circle and dot for a central figure, which is more sensitive to a blur, should it occur. In addition, the border provides even more awareness aspects. As the border and edge are noted, awareness of the rest of the room and what is beyond the card becomes apparent. This card can be used not only for form recognition, but also with modified plus acceptance routines and any other procedure which would be enhanced by this type of target and awareness factors.

Peripheral awareness letter chart on cling material. Used to develop the ability to maintain fixation over time. It also improves peripheral awareness and helps to avoid peripheral vision restrictions and to reduce visual stress.

The chart is on a cling material that statically clings to flat surfaces such as windows, clear acrylic, or other smooth surfaces.

The purpose of this Sports Rock Set is to combine shifting focus with saccadic eye movements to better stimulate what actually happens in most sports. The instructions include a procedure as one example of how this is accomplished and is the standard procedure for testing. The placement of the charts, the distances and the use of multiple near charts are all variables that can be incorporated into various training procedures based on the athlete’s sport.

Using a 50″ HD TV and interactive touch screen, The Sanet Vision Integrator (SVI) is a multi-sensory system incorporating eye-hand coordination with cognitive processing and balance to help improve these abilities for a wide range of visually related learning problems. The key features that make this “all in one” instrument so useful are the variety of programs and many ways that visual abilities can be enhanced. The programmable instrument incorporates features of a saccadic trainer, virtual rotator, tachistoscope and programmable metronome. The SVI instrument actually “speaks”, instructing the patient to respond to verbal commands, improving auditory-visual integration and memory. SVI can be used to enhance the following visual abilities: Pursuits, Saccades, Fixation Stability, Eye-hand coordination, Visual reaction time, Speed and span of recognition, Automaticity, and Contrast sensitivity, plus Visual and Auditory Sequencing and Memory.

The Senaptec Strobe is designed to train the connections between an individual’s eyes, brain, and body. Using liquid crystal technology, the lenses flicker between clear and opaque, removing visual information and forcing the individual to process more efficiently. The Senaptec Strobe can be integrated into existing sports training drills and exercises, or to vision therapy protocols as an uploading technique.

As an athlete, the strobes take your training to another level. The curved liquid crystal lenses provides a full 180 degree field of view allowing users to enhance their visuals skills in the training room, or on the field of play! Improve balance, anticipation, and reaction to gain the competitive edge! These are a must own training aid for any therapy room or athletic training center!

Today, people around the world are doing daily eye exercises with the original EYEPORT®. Developed in the early 2000’s, the EYEPORT® was the first FDA cleared medical device intended to improve performances related to vision. Unfortunately, the original model was not produced after 2012. After receiving a large number of requests from our customers, Bernell has revived this great Vision Therapy training tool! The key training features and programs of the original model have not changed, however a new design plus added features have been incorporated into the new EYEPORT®II model from Bernell. Additionally, this device is now proudly made in the USA!
