The CSV-l000ETDRS10% test face presents the standard ETDRS test at a contrast level of 10%. This test is widely used in clinical studies for the evaluation of refractive surgery and contact lenses.
The CSV-1000LH Symbol test face provides common symbols for the evaluation of illiterate or non-English speaking patients. The test is also widely used for the evaluation of children. The CSV-1000LH is in the ETDRS format. A patient prompt card is included.
The CSV-1000S test face is widely used for in or out-of-office screenings and for cataract evaluation. This test presents standard visual acuity from 20/15 to 20/200, two rows of spatial frequencies (6 and 12 cycles/degree) and a real-world driver’s scene.
Since 1991, the CSV-1000 has been a mainstay for clinical trials that measure contrast sensitivity, ETDRS acuity, low contrast acuity and glare sensitivity. The self-standardized back lit system automatically initiates and maintains a light level of 85 cd/m2. This light level is recommended by the FDA for vision evaluation. The system is also easy to use and requires no maintenance, thus greatly reducing overhead in clinical trials. The cool fluorescent bulbs used in the CSV-1000 have a 20,000 hour life and draw very little energy. Using the CSV-1000 makes bulb replacement obsolete and creates an energy saving footprint. The device is also configured electrically with a universal power supply so that is very simple to adapt for local electrical requirements by using a plug cord for the country of choice.
A variety of low contrast acuity tests can be used with the CSV-1000 or CSV-1000HGT. These tests are used primarily for screening, cataract documentation or in clinical trials. Please see the pictures and images below to learn more about the various low contrast acuity tests available from VectorVision. Other contrast levels and test types are available upon request.
